Pre Production
After I had gotten into my group the first thing we did was came up with a spider diagram which had all the different film, genres on so we could come up with some ideas in what type of genre we wanted to work on. As you can see we wrote down all the genre types on each branch and then came up with different ideas in what each genre would include. For example for a thriller we had the idea of having a chase scene or including a detective. After some time and writing down different ideas we drifted towards the Indie genre because we had the most ideas for it and we thought it would be the best for us.
Then we starting to write think of some good Indie films like 'The kings of Summer' and 'The spectacular now' and 'The Way Way Back'. This meant we could get ideas from the beginning of other films which could give us more ideas for our own opening. We also started to write down some ideas of our opening could be about. We had the idea of a boy on a beach standing in the water and then having a narrator saying how he got there etc.
