 Pre-production | Day 3

Today we watched the beginnings of some coming of age indie films, like "The Way Way Back and "500 Days of Summer". We only watched the first 2 minutes so we could see what our film will need to consist of. One thing that we all liked in the beginning of "The Way Way Back" was the opening title scene sequence which we found interesting and something that would like to replicate for out own opening sequence.

This is a shot of what the opening title sequence looks like, with a lack background and then having the  letting see through with a clip  playing in the background. We messed around on Final Cut Pro and there was a template for a title sequence which we will use because it looked very similar and it was what we wanted.

We will also need to see if we can lower the capacity of the black background, to make the opening sequence more interesting instead of just having a plain black background. We will need to see if we can do this in Final Cut and to see if we are able to place a clip behind it so we don't go over our 2 minute time limit.
We all liked this title sequence because we thought it was simple and affective for our type of genre that we are going to base our film on.  In the background we are going to have the sea instead which we will need to try out in Final Cut pro.
